My mother in law use to cook this and it is so delish
cook a pot of dry pinto beans and when done add in some of the frozen type pastry strips (the amount depends on how many beans you cook so you will have to kinda judge for yourself how many to add, she cooked a large bag of beans so she used maybe half a box of strips)
when done drain off some of the extra juice so it will be kinda thick but not to thick to be dry. serve with fried cornbread or hush puppies and enjoy !!!
we use to eat them from a small cereal bowl rather than a plate.

it is good specially if you like both pinto beans and pastry. You can also do it with green garden peas I think she used the frozen peas that's in a bag.
